Construction Phase Plan

Post by Daniel1984 »

Evening All,

looking for some advice regarding the issuing of the CPP.

Should the Principal Contractor issue a copy of the Construction Phase Plan to the contractor before the construction phase begins?

Hi there Daniel and a very warm welcome to you. .salut

Here is the official version:

"It is a requirement that a suitable Construction Phase Plan is developed prior to the commencement of work and relevant parts of the plan are communicated to Contractors so that they are aware of the management arrangements and risks involved so that they can plan and manage their works effectively."

As you know, consultations would have taken place with the contractors (and others concerned prior to the commencement of the build) during the collation of the Plan to ensure everything is covered, but as far as I am aware and I am no expert on construction or the question you are specifically asking, a copy should be given to appropriate persons such as, client, designer, contractor etc and a copy held in the site office.

I used to do streetworks and on one bigger site, the above is what happened, thus my reply.

I am hoping some of our knowledgeable construction people will confirm or set me right on my reply when they have a moment. Thank you all in advance. .salut
