NVQ Level 2 Help for apprentices

Hi everyone

I am new to this site & looking for some advice please, if possible.
We are an employer (bespoke kitchen manufacturer) with two guys doing there apprenticeship in woodworking.
We have been experiencing some issues with college, the assessors not attending site for reviews, them not getting guidance & questions answered at times when needed, etc.

They were given a rather crudely designed sheet yesterday with two questions to answer:

1. List the current top ten HSE safety risks (bullet points 1-10)
2. List the current top five HSE health risks (bullet points 1-5)

They have both been in today to say, after having a look online last night, they couldn't fine a specific list as such, more guidelines for the workplace. Can anybody please tell me if such rigid 'top ten' & 'top five' lists actually exist as published by the HSE ?

Many thanks in advance

Samantha

Hi Samantha and welcome along.
Im sorry to hear of your issues with your assessors, thats not a good position for the guys to be in.
Have a look here http://www.hse.gov.uk/woodworking/index.htm and im sure there will be plenty there that the guys can work through to get the answers.
Paul

Good morning Paul

Thank you for taking the time to get back to me, it is much appreciated & the lads both send their thanks too. I have pointed them in the direction of the link you posted & they have found it very useful already. We want to keep them engaged given the lack of commitment from the college at the moment so finding this site has been most helpful.

Many thanks
Samantha

A very warm welcome from me also. Good to have you aboard and pleased the link Paul listed was of help to your students.

As Willpool says, hope the link he has provided will be useful too.

Ask anything in here or our upgraded FB page and we will all do our best to offer some assistance.
