Cheap CPD Options

Post by stephen1974 »

I'm officially a member of IOSH now, they are just sorting out my level but it should be TechIOSH.

What do people for for their CPD? i'm looking for cheap, preferably free options as i've just burnt through a larger than expected chunk of money on a fire wardens trainer course and replacing my car window thats a couple of little scroats smashed and the weekold dashcam they stole.

I have the diploma side of my NCRQ to finish.
I already have Fire Risk Assessment training and can now deliver fire warden training. (Both IFE approved)
I'd like to do a couple of more trainer courses but i'm wondering what to look at as free courses. Anyone know of any good ones out there? What do people think of the courses provided by ALISON?

CPD is whatever suits you, there's no need to attend expensive courses.

I go to H&S Expos and log the seminar's against my CPD,
I go to IOSH meetings and log the talks as CPD,
I read H&S magazine articles and log them as CPD,
I brought a book about Fire Risks in Heritage Property, read it and logged it as CPD,
Heck, if I get a problem with a client that requires me to do some research into an area I'm not familiar with, I'll log it as CPD...

If.... well you hopefully get the picture by now,... if it's aided your professional development, no matter what it is, even if it's just a refresher/update, then it's part of CPD...

Yep, they're a good CPD source too....
Don't know about you stretch3144, but I find it so heart warming when people acknowledge that you've responded to a question they asked.... it's the little things that often matter in life....
