Water Risk Assessment - Training Course

Post by MillennialHS »

Hi all,

I have recently moved organisations and part of my new role will be to carry out Water Risk Assessments.

My knowledge in this area is limited; having primarily only dealt with H&S and Fire Risk Assessments previously.

What training courses would you recommend I complete that would give me a better understanding of the requirements needed for a Water Risk Assessment?

Hi Millenial,

Google legionella courses in your area and see what it comes up with?
Here are a few pointers for you: -

In my own personal experience, I found the course I went on was excellent for theory and Legionella awareness etc., but left me woefully underprepared for the plumbing aspect. Without a mentor to explain what all of those pipes were, I'd have been hopelessly lost.

So perhaps I would recommend an introduction to domestic plumbing course of some sort, if this isn't covered by whatever H&S course you end up choosing.
We often think that when we have completed our study of one we know all about two, because 'two' is 'one and one.' We forget that we still have to make a study of 'and.'
