What's your Profession?

Post by Safe&Sound »

Hi all,

I thought it would be a good idea to start this thread as I for one am interested in what sort of professions people are in and what qualifications they hold. As a relatively new user I would have suspected that all were in a H&S role but I have met a few people that aren't but simply working on a H&S qualification to have better understanding for their roles.

I'll start it off :)

Current role: HR Secondment leading to Training Project Manager
Sector: Manufacturing
Qualification: NEBOSH Award, NEBOSH NGC (awaiting results). NFC Booked for November and NCRQ Diploma in Jan 2017.
Goal: To gain my NCRQ and branch off to work full time in a H&S role and possibly lead into consultancy/training.

Not trying to be nosey, just interested what fields/professions make up the health & safety industry.

Current role: Retired and living in Brittany (having breakfast at the moment)
Sector: Bit of work with people renovating buildings, interesting particularly how the French locals 'interpret' the EU guidance etc
Qualification: NEBOSH GC/CC/FC - NVQ Level 5 - Fire Safety Enginering Principles and a few others
Goal: Carry on as I am

H&S as a career was good, as with all it had good and bad days but I enjoyed it from the first to the last day. Was not sorry to leave as the move to France had been planned for over the past few years.

Current role: LGV Driver/ Lorry-mounted crane operator.
Sector: Road Haulage.
Qualifications: None as yet, still very new to being officially involved in H&S.
Goal: Ultimately, the same as Blackstone, but I'd love to hear that Radio 2's "Sally Traffic" has been made redundant due to no accidents as a result of people driving sensibly. If only.....*sigh*
