Lee,
WOW, many congratulations. Not that I doubted it for a second of course, but it is wonderful news and I bet you are thrilled. I hope you will be celebrating your achievement.

Re: IOSH Peer review interview
Hi everybody I am a new member and haven't posted before but I have been getting the newsletter for a couple of years. I passed my PRI on the 15th of May in Edinburgh and you guys - everybody posting on this forum - helped me a lot with my preparation and eventual success. Like some others I too failed the first time and took it bad, but managed to get my head up and start again. There has been lots of good advice in these posts but one I would particularly repeat would be get yourself an IOSH mentor, I did and it was just the impetus I needed. Congratulations to all fellow CMIOSH's let's get out there now and make the world a safer place.

Re: IOSH Peer review interview
Some of you may recall that around 14 months ago I was unsuccessful in passing my IOSH Peer Review Interview.
While I was well hacked off at the mandatory 12 month wait before applying again, and some of the follow up from IOSH was quite drawn out and not too helpful, I did get extremely useful feedback from the Mentor who reviewed my interview transcript. His opinion was that I was certainly of the required standard, my problem was that I hadn't decompressed from my RAF career.
He gave me several pointers on where I had failed to get my point across to the panel, simply because I wasn't understanding where they were coming from. They were my 'Peers' in H&S terms, but a lot of what I had said to them I needed to explain in greater detail, because they were not my 'Peers' in terms of experiences.
One example he gave me from my transcript was that I mentioned managing the hazards in an 'Engineering Workshop' but didn't explain it further. He said he knew all the sorts of things that would entail, since his own background was engineering, but someone who was from Retail wouldn't have a clue what I was trying to illustrate. So explain myself in greater detail.
Yesterday I went for another Peer Review.
The wait for results can be 21 working days....though they say they do try and get it done sooner....

I got the answer this morning less than 22 hours after completing the interview...
