Many thanks everybody. .salut

The new IOSH 'Chartered Member' certificate and 'Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner' lapel badge have already arrived in the post too.

I've made the OSHCR application, so hopefully get that soon and see if it's actually worth it, the stories do seem varied.

Now, back to those new business card designs... ;)

Thanks Lee

I've got some very nice new business cards adorned with appropriate logos...
IOSH-OSHCR.jpg
The rules for use of which are very strict. I combined them into one jpg file so that it was easier to upload to the business card. But they must only be used in relation to me, not my company etc.
I doubt the OSHCR will get me business directly, but it's another level of verification for potential clients to check out.
What's a little annoying about the OSHCR is you can't update your profile during the annual registration period (as far as I can find). It seems the attributes you list when you sign up are the ones you're stuck with for the year; I can't add another skill or field of work, during the year. I guess the only way to change details would be to email the people running it.

Congrats Bernie! clapclap

I passed the exams for the open assessment.

Got a letter telling me that my CPD is currently being audited and all going well I'll be going for an interview.

This thread has been incredibly useful to me, it's given me an idea of what to expect, and the IOSH code of conduct is currently my bedtime reading (excellent cure for insomnia!).

But I need help! What are the core questions and where can I find them?

I read that they were on the IOSH website, but they're not there now.

Can anyone help or advise?

Hi Sminky

Thanks for the Congrats.
You're right, they seem to have removed the link that took you to the question template. Perhaps they've changed it again.

From what I remember, the core questions were regarding:

What did you learn from doing your SDP.
How do you keep up to date on H&S.
Explain how you develop polices and procedures.
How do you carry out RA?
What's the purpose of doing an accident investigation?
Something about Active Monitoring.
Best practice
Code of Conduct.

The panel can ask you just about anything from those areas.
If you're smart, your presentation will direct those questions into your comfort zone. ;)

Thanks for the tips Berni, all good to know.

I'm just finishing the final assignment for a BSc Hons as well - so it's been a hectic and strenuous time for me - but soon I can knuckle down to preparing for the interview.

I'm looking forward to finishing all these studies, achieving the degree and CMIOSH status, and finally having some free time to myself for the first time in a long time!

Congrats again.

Just for those about to embark on the PRI, I recently sat mine (last week) the core questions are available on line on the IOSH website, if not just look at what Berni has posted as those were exactly the questions asked and in that order.
