Hi ,
We had couple of incidents when the grinder users forgot to release the trigger lock and the grinder was left on the work bench. Another time the electric cable got entangled onto it.
We had stopped bringing in angle grinders with trigger lock.
What is the general opinion of trigger lock on an angle grinder: is it a hazard or a help for the users. Help would be less contact pressure on the button as it will be remain on during the grinding process.
Secondly, are grinders to be used with one hand or two hands during the grinding process. We have numerous grinders from 4inch diameter to 9 inch diameter wheel.
I am not an advocate of trigger lock. What is the consensus from the forum?

Re: grinder trigger lock
Hi
Personally, I would not allow trigger locks on an angle grinder. There is enough of a hazard with the blades slowing down once the trigger is released without adding the potential for an unprotected blade to be spinning at 10,000 rpm to the equation.

Re: grinder trigger lock
Thanks David.
However the manufacturer is fitting them onto the grinders
Risk question would be which is more injurious: whether it is the aching hand or a gash?
