Re: Frustration
And three guesses who I had to tell about safety shoes this morning.
IF the area was not his normal place of work I would give him a little latitude, but he works there every day.
I have passed the issue to his manager, I am not holding my breath!

Re: Frustration
They treat cuts as part of the job, an occupational hazard that just happens!
Not good but all too common I am afraid

Re: Frustration
I used to work in a factory with an old fashioned machining area - full of very experienced engineers who thought PPE was for wimps. I did hear the "it's not happened to me in the last 30 years" line more than once. One from a chap with the tip of at least 1 finger missing! I still would n...

Frustration
Why health and safety is SOOOO frustrating This morning I told one of the lads that he needed to put his safety boots on as he was working in an area and on a task that requires them. His first comment was the unit is not heavy and not really a carcass – True it was relatively light but it was a car...

Re: H&S Expo London
Had a good day on the Wednesday. Good discussions, some great new technology but way too many PPE providers from the far east.

Re: grinder trigger lock
Hi
Personally, I would not allow trigger locks on an angle grinder. There is enough of a hazard with the blades slowing down once the trigger is released without adding the potential for an unprotected blade to be spinning at 10,000 rpm to the equation.

Morning all
Sorry for my lack of attendance on the forums but one is back.
Life is good, work is work, and it is our wedding anniversary so I am taking Mrs D out for dinner tonight.
Hope you have a great day
Dave

Re: National Speed Awareness Course: impact evaluation
On my way to work yesterday I was overtaken by white van man on a single carriageway road with a 30 mph limit. At the next roundabout I pulled up behind him and noticed the "speed limited" and "my speed is tracked" stickers. He took off like a stabbed rat and raced down the road ...

Re: Work/Career: I have complete lack of motivation ? don't feel empowered
You are not the first, and certainly won't be the last. For me it is all about small wins. Get on the shop floor, identify a small problem, solve it, move to the next. Look for tiny improvements or better still get the staff to find the problems and get them to provide solutions. Massive workload - ...
