Re: Covid Risk? Saw your fire door in half - that will solve it!!!!
Taking a step back from my immediate reaction, which is the same as Messy's, I wonder if there are any details to this suggestion for actual analysis? Let's say 10mm is taken off the bottom of classroom doors. Does that allow a meaningful increase in ventilation as part of Covid Controls, or does it...

Re: Question about Liability
Hi all. Just getting to grips with civil law and wondered about a scenario. If someone is cutting trees and a branch that the person cuts falls and hits a member of the public, I know that it is likely the injured party would have a case as the injury was caused by act of the defendant. What about ...

Re: Mercury awareness training
40 years ago it was found in many industries; we used it in test equipment when measuring pressures. Households had it in their thermometer (and their tinned Tuna if they were unlucky). As mercury is a far less common substance in the workplace these days, I would say any such awareness would need t...

Re: Tuesday 1 February 2022
Good Morning Alexis and anyone else lurking around. Strangely warm around the East Midlands, approx 11C., with winds gusting to about 15 mph. I've got a few issues ongoing, some dealing with Local Authority Highways, who seem to have an agenda contrary to the public statements of Councillors. That's...

Re: Friday 28 January 2022
Sun has just come out where I am, but looking around in all directions, I think it might only be a momentary respite from the cloud cover.
Now, the Bird Watch, ... I always sit at the window looking out the back of the house, and wonder if the birds are all out the front laughing at me....

Re: Boarding house coverings on noticeboards
I totally agree with Messy. There will be far greater potential fire loading in their room, such as charging their phone somewhere that has clothing heaped on it, etc, etc I mean, forgetting the 'fabric', what about when their fire retardant notice/pin board is covered in paper notices, menus, cours...

Another route is to use the A-Z index....

Re: HSA (IRE) welcomes lowest level of work-related fatalities since records began
Certainly a welcome drop, but I wonder how much of that is simply due to Covid measures... .scratch Based on extremely rough estimations of working age populations, I've just calculated that the UK workplace fatality rate is around 0.4 per 100,000 while those numbers would still give Eire a rate of ...

So yesterday was missed out by everyone....
Dank and dismal around my part of the UK today, but I will be going out for a bit of a walk later if the rain holds off.
Boxing Day's Duck Race was the fastest ever in it's 28 year history.
Stay safe everyone.

Re: Boxing Day 26 December 2021
Went out for the village Duck Race this morning. River was quite full and fast so a quick race today. Far fewer people out and about, not the usual family groups with kids riding their new bike/scooter, etc. I hope everyone has a good day, wherever you are, whatever you're doing. .salut https://scon...

Thurs 23rd Dec 2021
Well, yesterday was missed entirely, so I thought I'd just say Hello and Happy Christmas to everyone.... Everyone has their own situation to deal with this year, plans being changed at the last minute etc Our plans have changed in the past couple of hours as our son has just told us he had a positiv...
