Re: Lots of hats for not much cash?

Hi Messy

That's does seems a lot of different roles for that salary, you have to ask how effective the person can be trying to juggle that amount of roles??

Re: Dust frustrations

Hi Messy

Yes all reviewed and we were happy with the RAMS, but sometimes different in reality when the work starts. Its a good reminder to check the work meets the paperwork that office send through.

Dust frustrations

Hi all We have major works on site all summer when pupils are away this includes stonemasons on site replacing stone on some of the buildings and carving intricate designs. A couple of weeks ago I went into the yard they are using to cut the stone and found white dust everywhere. I found the contrac...

Re: First Aide record retention

Don't forget if the record is for someone under 18 they can make a claim from their 18th birthday plus 3 years so you need to keep those records for longer

Re: Building resilience as a H&S professional - Mental health

Hi TWDB Its never easy in this role when you can have massive highs and real big lows. Over the years I've been in some horrendous jobs with bullying managers and although I still have bad days I concentrate now on me. This can mean going for a walk in nature (my way of relaxing) or reading a book b...

CDM Non notifiable form

Hi all I'm looking at putting a form together for our Estates team to complete in planning of works for non notifiable projects to ensure they are meeting all their responsibilities. We use an external company to manage all of our CDM notifiable jobs but this is for all the small jobs that don't nee...

Re: Confined Space training

Hi Blackstone

Not sure if this is too high a form of training but I attended managers training with this company- probably best course I have ever attended:

Re: Retrospective Building Regulations

Hi Witsd

Thanks for the reply. The stairs are not fire escape just a left over from the house used years ago In fact the door to them is virtually impossible to open due to swelling. The handrail is on the inside on the wall side of the stairs

Thanks again

Retrospective Building Regulations

Hi all We have had a historic set of external metal stairs inspected by structural engineer, they are not used very frequently (if at all), the majority of the works identified have been completed e.g. wire brush back to bare metal and treat with suitable paint but there is a couple of mentions of b...

Re: Charity event climbing a tower

Hi Messy

Way too tight for tower or any other type of access equipment. The event is in a couple of weeks away so no time to get the work completed. No services in the loft just empty space with pupils names carved into the beams

Thanks for response
