I have just visited their website to see if there's an email address. Sadly not. Neither are they showing any performance current or future.

I also small a rat. Want an easy way to close a theatre? Blame the H&S bogeyman

I agree that it appears to be open season on the H&S industry in the tabloid media. That is until something like the fatal Greek CO tragedy involving the holidaying children, at which time the tabloids campaign for extra 'red tape'. The Sun is reliable for two things only - getting your garden b...

If the cabins are exclusively within the boundary of the site (which it sounds like they are), I would argue the Construction Regs would apply. If not it's the FS(RR)O.

The local fire safety office would not need to be informed.

I too am interested in the views of others on this one

Messy, the emergency escape route will only need to consider disabled people if there are disabled employees or if the place is open to the public.

I won't argue with that, which is why I said: "You may need to consider........DDA"

The licensing authorities are generally pretty hot (xcuse the pun) about naked flames on stage. It's fair enough really as all naked flame fires have the potential to spread very very rapidly indeed, and are accountable for many fire deaths and injuries every year If it is a licenced venue, they may...

If you are considering using the double door as a fire exit, you also may need to consider: Does it lead to a place of safety away from the building (not a locked courtyard etc) and if possible, not thru high risk area Exit Signage (both sides of the door if it's likely to be obstructed) Door fixing...

As a regular user of the tube network I have noted that, in addition to adding significantly to the amount of combustible waste on the tube, the advent of the freesheet has altered the behaviour of passengers with regards to waste disposal. Very rarely did you see business type people on their way t...

There's no doubt that the health of a small minority will be improved by this change, but the safety of others will suffer.

Can you imagine being a lone worker in a small shop and attempting to refuse serving a group of 16/17 year olds who have been sucessfully served by you in the past?

Maybe it's about time to consider the mandatory installing of CO detectors where there is a commercial sleeping risk. I am not a fire alarm engineer, but I can see no reason why such detection could use intelligent fire alarm control equipment/wiring already installed in such buildings. This, and th...

Just to clarify the situation with regards to who does what in a fire: Evacuating the building: The Responsible Person -RP- (usually the occupier(s)) Rescues : The Fire service. I cannot think of a single office environment where an evacuation plan would involve providing a 'safe area' so that perso...

Since the arrival of RR(FS)O, the first (and most important) part of my inspections is the audit of paperwork, and more importantly, whether the responsible person (RP) understands the paperwork/procedures etc. For the rare examples of where there is actually a fire risk assessment on the premises(!...
