Re: Entry level jobs and next steps

The software that is mentioned was discussed on a LinkedIn webinar and it was said that the software is set to the job description so base it to that.

My friend in HR told me he tried it out when searching for a new role, his invited to interviews went up by 90%

University challenge I

I have a little project that I would love to give to some uni engineering students and wondered if anyone knew where best to go? I can start ringing around but thought I would check here first.

Thanks in advance

Re: Speakers

I would be more than happy to present on the waste subject if you can get back to me with more details.

I am Liason Officer for the IOSH Environmental and waste Management Group so will do it representing both my employer and them.

Re: RORO Risk Assessment

PM me, I can provide you one but you will have to adapt. Make sure you have the operational procedures in place, vehicle operating instructions, training etc. The vehicle is one aspect of the operation but the bins themselves are the most common cause of incidents. RoRo drivers commonly ram the hook...

Re: Mentoring List

I never visited his work and was not always on the phone to him but effectively “he was there if needed” When I got my first job interview he coached me through and I got the jo...

Re: Farming once again high on the list

It does make you wonder why this hasn’t reduced over the years, if you look at the waste sector that I work in which is a not so good second place to agriculture, some say that we are 15 to 20 years behind construction but it hasn’t just suddenly become dangerous overnight and We (and rightly so) ha...

Re: Finding Advisors for new positions

Is it the package? The company? Shifts? Or is it the quality of the person applying? I’m intrigued as I was approached last week by an agency representing a for a very large company in Birmingham and I was told that they are struggling to fill 2 gaps and at a £50 grand a year I wondered why. Transpi...

Re: Safety observation v near miss

Pretty much what Andy said, it’s about behaviours, observe someone working and note the positives and opportunities for improvement but I always insist they focus on both the positives and negative and when debriefing the employee always starting with the positives. I always get frustrated when peop...
