Training course suggestions

I'm looking to do some additional training for fire risk assessing. I've done previous courses with a couple of different fire services and i've done risk assessments on lesiure facilities, garages, small offices. The obvious course would be NEBOSH Fire Certificate but I don't speak NEBOSH so thats ...

Re: Covid-19 temperature testing of employees

We have introduced this at my work. We are using the IR forehead thermometers also. We test everyone every day and record the temperature looking for an increase through the week. The tester wears a medical mask, safety glasses, disposable gloves and a full face visor. There is also a screen we bui...

Re: Mobile ladders with platforms as permanent stairs

But like I said, my advisor wanted to quote "section this from regulation that" at the client. Are we being fixated on the "quote act and section part and not looking at the scenario. No. I look at the scenario, my colleague likes to look at regulations. She couldnt find any that fitted the bill, a...

This is NOT my area, but wouldn't the frequency of use, the height of the access equipment, the weight and size of items expected to be lifted - all be part of an overall RA?
The reality is 90% of our clients dont do risk assessments, regardless of what we say to them.

Re: Online Course Suggestion

LinkedIn just offered a free months trial of their online learning library. Had a brief look last night, saw a construction one and started in on that, but its American so whilst much is valid in principal, the specifics are probably not going to be that helpful. Have not had a chance to look throug...

Re: Mobile ladders with platforms as permanent stairs

The best I can suggest is that... A) If you intend to use them as stairs they must conform to stairs as laid out in part K of the building regs (which i dont believe they do) B) If you dont want to call them stairs then they are ladders/steps and must be used in the appropriate manner, and you cant ...

Online Course Suggestion

So as of tomorrow i'm officialy on "furlough", however long that may last, what would be a good online course to study? nothing expensive but of reasonable quality. Fire would be preferable but unlikely to find anything of an acceptable standard in an acceptable price range, but anything would do.
