Re: IOSH Graduate name change to Certified (CertIOSH)
I feel I have been demoted by IOSH. when talking qualifications it is normally Certificate then Graduate. I fully agree with Willpool, IOSH does not seem to be great value for money as you need to do the compulsory hours on your CPD. I have enough plates to spin trying to keep my people safe as well...

Re: Non-Transferrable FLT tickets
Hi Alexis,
sorry to hear that about your son.
Glad he got help to get the training needed.
I know that some companies do an 'in-house' training course but that is different from what is happening here.
I just find it odd.

Non-Transferrable FLT tickets
Hi guys, this is the first time I have come across this. Our training for RTITB type tickets are registered on the NORS database, but as our company has registered them as 'non transferrable', if an individual wants to leave etc. he is not able to take this training with him. The course is a full ty...

ATEX Watches
Hi guys,
just a quick question that I hope someone can help with.
Does anyone know whether a wind up watch ie no battery, is compatible with ATEX areas?
Or failing that are there any non expensive ATEX compatible watches?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Electric Vehicles and Pacemekers
Hi all, just an update on this. I have been onto the British Heart Foundation who have said that there is no guidance from any government department about working with electric vehicles bar the rather generic stuff on HSE. The studies done relate to driving cars only. However the only information co...

Re: Electric Vehicles and Pacemekers
Thanks for the replies. just to clarify the question relates to a mechanic working on an electric vehicle, specifically a truck unit. The Electromagnetic Field on a truck will be far greater than that of a domestic car especially if any shielding has been removed to work on the engine etc. It does r...

Electric Vehicles and Pacemekers
Hi All, I have just been asked a question which I have no definative answer. Basically, I work with heavy vehicles and I have one mechanic who has a pacemaker to keep his heart beating. With the change to electric vehicles, ours will have a voltage of 600v, can he work on these vehicles? I will risk...

coats for rainy weather
Hi, I have a query and am looking for opinions. I work for a logistics company who do a lot of deliveries. The driver (and van mate) have been provided with their PPE, which includes a jacket. An individual has managed to burst the zip on the jacket and we are ordering him a new one. But he has said...

PAT Testing and Working From Home
Guys,
I have had a question from one of our employees working from home.
Basically when we get our equipment PAT tested at our site, what do we need to do for people working from home?
Many thanks in advance for any assistance,
Gregg011

Covid-19 and Testing Kits
Hi Guys, I am one of the lucky ones who are still working for the food industry. I have been asked if I can get recommendations on any particular type of testing kit. the MD saw this on the news last night and has decided this is the way forward. As far as I know kits are unreliable unless sent to a...
