Re: Unrecorded mine shaft found under road in East Lothian, Scotland

As soon as I saw this I thought about the incident below. A tragic case that should never had ended as it did.

Re: WAH Training

A WAH awareness course will give you guys the basics. From memory I don't think it covers rescue plans, that's a completely different level of training required

Re: Offshore Oil & Gas grime STINKS !!

Hi Launchit, As someone who currently works in the offshore arena I feel its my duty to retort. Yes who may have had a miserable time of it and yes you may have been unlucky with the company you chose to work for. However not Oil & Gas companies operate in this manner or have personnel who speak to ...

Spot on there Paul!

Also what type of cut resistance gloves were available? There are different levels of cut resistance gloves out there, these should be based upon the hazards with the task.

I emailed IOSH directly and have been told that as I have both Diplomas I don't have to complete the assessment or portfolio. Happy days .bounce

Re: Are Fires a Near Miss?????

Hi Messy,

So what does your employer classify a fires as?

As you say, you have to investigate these to identify the why's and how's.

Obviously for me in oil and gas its a straightforward incident and this will generate the required paperwork dependent upon the seriousness of the incident.
