advice please re returning following MH illness
Hello everyone I would really be greatful if you could give me any advice on how I get back into H&S after my illness. I have been away for a while because in January last year I had a nervous breakdown. I have been diagnosed with a couple of different MH issues including depression, anxiety and...

Re: what a wonderful company i work for
Well I'm pretty sure its not me on this occaision, but yes I have been that person in the past. And needless to say the company didn't mention in the interview that the people they had overlooked for the role would be sat about 5 desks away from me, seething!

Just a word to the wise. She can't help her age or the way the company treated you - so try to give her a fair crack of the whip eh?

Re: Legionella RA - domestic dwellings
Hi Lisa Our legionella consultant said we don't have to do this for 'street' properties, but that we do have to have a process in place for managing them during void periods. Our new water management procedure (yes I'm still writing the bloomin thing) says the contractors will ensure they run the ta...

Re: Landlords responsibilities
Hi I agree with what has been said. There doesn't appear to be any extra responsibilities because they used to be an employee (no H&S at work once they aren't at work - just normal responsibilities to a tenant). Having said that, I don't know what your situation is, but it can cause some other p...

Re: Legionella Works
I would also suggest that your safe system of work should consider the customers - how they might be affected by the work and also how they might (accidentally or deliberately) impact on the other arrangements you have in place. Like the rest of the population, most housing association residents are...

Re: Advice please on padded walls?
Thanks ever so much for the help. The suggestion of protective headwear was an excellent one. Just in case anyone ever faces the same dilema, I thought I'd add the link in for a company that provides medical protective headwear: http://www.westons.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_ProtectaCap_17057.html...

Advice please on padded walls?
Hello everyone This is probably going to sound rather odd, but here goes! We have a customer who, as a result of his specific medical needs, presents challenging behaviour that includes banging his head repeatedly on the tiled walls of the bathroom at his home. Obviously steps are being taken to try...

Re: DDA Audit
I reccommend using the resources of the 'centre for accessible environments' for help on DDA accessibility audits http://www.cae.org.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I attended this course with them and it was excellent and very practical: http://www.cae.org.uk/training_a...

I agree with what Ashanti has said, but I would test the water first by applying for a couple of jobs and seeing what happens. That way if your company doesn't give you what you want, you know you can follow through on the implied ultimatum. In the meeting itself plan what you want to say and do not...
