Re: Building resilience as a H&S professional - Mental health
Hi T, With regards to managing a team... Can be piece of cake, can be really, really difficult! It all depends if you are all on the same page, rowing in the same direction. The roles and experience of the team will partly help direct who needs to do what. With regards to priorities, i tend to base ...

Re: Working at Height - Waste Material Container
Why not request changing the container to a skip to hold metal chippings? Is there a specific reason it is a container? I previously worked at a machine shop and we had large skips for our waste metal swarf/chippings that presented no risk of working at height and easy to manage waste. If the contra...

Confined Space training
Hi all,
Could anyone recommend some basic Confined Space training providers?
Or alternatively, does someone have a basic Confined Space training presentation they would be willing to share?
Looked through the downloads section and couldn't see anything.
Many thanks
Glen

Re: Electric Vehicles and Pacemekers
Agree with witsd.
The manufacturers should be providing information on the level of EMF's being omitted by these electric cars (and chargers).
Not something i had thought about but a good question!

Re: Box ticking exercise
Targets have always got to have conversations, reasons, action and monitoring to go with them. No good setting a target for near misses if: a) people dont know why they are raising near misses, b) there is no feedback to the person raising the near miss c) near miss is raised but actually nothing is...

Re: Would you permit a wheelchair user visiting a site into a typical engineering manufacturing machine shop? If no, why
The answer should not be a straight no thats for sure! Coming from an engineering background and spending plenty of time in machine shops, other than physical space being a limiting factor, i cant see a reason why this should be a problem .scratch Unless the machine shop is so unsafe and poorly run ...

Re: Isolation guidance - Puzzling?
I see this as the "competent person" being either the permit issuer or A N other who has inspected the isolation and given the go ahead. Remember you cannot write and issue your own permit for work you are doing. Dave 100% agree. But if the isolation are secure with no issues, tagged corr...
