Re: H&S Christmas jokes

Did you hear the one about the guy putting up the Xmas lights on the roof his curry house? Last I heard he fell from a dodgy ladder and he's been in a korma ever since. I'll get my coat :D Or of course there is an abundance of "elf" and safety references to be had. BTW what do you call a female elf?...

Re: Hired Equipment & Inspection Evidence

You'd think that a label (similar to Pat Test labels) to show the date and status would be the minimum and cheapest option for a hire company to ensure clients know the basic info. I can help with a solution for your own in-house checks - just pm me if you want any details.

Re: CDM Notice Boards

These guys have a range of boards which includes various headings for their document holders - might help give you an idea of what else to include?

Re: How do you share the "consequence" message.

Has anyone tried VR/augmented reality? Not sure if it would be any benefit or just a gimmick? Yup I've tried a few different versions and they all seem to have closed down the access now - unless anyone knows a site still offering the service.

Re: Fire door adaptation

Thanks Messy - that sounds like a perfect answer and a sensible one too (I wasn't sure if there was any legislative reason that would prevent the fire door from being disguised (despite the good intentions). Agree about adding a sign above the door to help with visitors - though appreciate that due ...

Re: Fire door adaptation

I still can't make my mind up - I understand the reasoning behind it but can't imagine "hiding" a fire exit door can ever be a good idea? Not sure it is acceptable from a legislative point of view? Then I guess you have to find a suitable alternative solution.

Fire door adaptation

I saw this post on my Facebook page and made me wonder what you guys thought? The post was from the US thankfully - not sure it would be allowed in the UK?

Re: Pallet Truck Maintenance / Inspection

I guess it comes down to how you interpret it? Them saying an annual inspection under PUWER could be the equivalent of my example of an in-house inspection once a year for someone that barely uses them? BTW if you want me to send you a pdf of our checklist send me a pm with your email and you can ha...
