Re: COVID UK giv QR code contact tracing app- anyone know if this can be used/ is applicable to construction site & offi

The app in Scotland doesn't use QR codes as far as I know - I'm not convinced people will scan a QR code every time they enter a building

Re: Short Covid Desk Screens?

The desks in our office are surrounded on 3 sides by clear acrylic screens which extend up from the desk level to around 90cm above it so give clear visibility for talking but do provide a good barrier - I'd be wary of having low level screens

Re: Fire exit route sigange - does it need to illuminated or luminous for use outside on a earthworks project

As a rule of thumb photoluminescent signs aren't recommended fro external use as they need good light to generate/store the glow which isn't guaranteed outdoors. If in doubt get in touch with the PSPA for advice - https://www.thepspa.com/ Also worht noting that you get many different grades of photo...

Re: covid - office attendance register using QR code system

It isnt a register at such but the app we developed includes a self-check for COVID19 for staff to complete each day before they arrive at work. Not sure if that would be of use to you? Feel free to give it a try or drop me a PM if you've any questions. You can sign up for a free trial of the app at...

Re: Beirut Explosion

An interesting read on the BBC site today - looking more at the reason why the ammonium nitrate was there in the first place. Seems like a multitude of issues/mistakes across a sustained timeline that led to the ultimate deadly conclusion. As ever it just goes to prove that ignoring a problem doesnt...

Re: Working in construction during COVID-19

This is one of the better videos I have seen in terms of guidance and best practice for construction sites and COVID19 - might be a useful one to watch and share with your colleagues?

Re: Maintaining Fire Safety Compliance during this COVID Emergency

Another thing to be wary of would be people moving desks etc to provide the two meter distancing rule and the potential impact that could have on escape routes/access etc?

No worries - glad they are of use to someone. At these times some things are more important than profit and it's nice to help people keep an eye on people's health rather than the health of their workplace equipment for a change lol Feel free to send and post to anyone else you think might appreciat...

Probably concerned you might shut them down on welfare grounds if they run out of soap or bog roll? Seriously though I'd expect H&S to be included in these - the clue is in the job title.

Re: Construction Site Contact Details

I wonder if someone is confusing this with streetworks? Extract below is from the old Safety at Street Works and Road Works A Code of Practice "An information board must be displayed at every street and road works site except mobile works, short duration works and minor works that do not involve exc...
