Completely agree with Bernicarey. Using H&S as a scape goat is not the way to resolve this

No problem there are other guides on event safety but if you have a low number of attendees then generally 2 first aiders are ok.

Is there a handyman or maintenance person that could do the tests that would be more competent than someone out of the office?

I caught a scaffolder climbing up the outside of a scaffold on site. When I shouted to him to get down his mate's reply was "don't worry he is a scaffolder"! 6 foot away was a cherry picker he could have used. Sometimes I just despair!

I don't currently but I have just downloaded IAuditor and it does look impressive so I am going to give that a tried as it should cut down on paper work.

What type of equipment will they be using (plant, machinery, tools)?

Thanks for the replies lots of useful information. I am going to start checking the paperwork and keys to the cabs and leave the rest to the qualified driver. Do other people have issues with people leaving keys in FTLS!!

Does anyone know how to check to make sure the HGV Trailer brakes are on? I want to include it as a check during my health and safety walk round.
