Only reason I used to steer clear of 'domestic' product was, in the days before t'internet was everywhere, getting a Safety Data Sheet from a commercial/industrial supplier was so much easier that trying to source them for supermarket shelf products.

Simply put, the MSDS is about the product, the COSHH assessment is about the process - how you use that product. As you have already used an example of a powder, in it's container there is probably no hazard, once you use that powder in your process you could create a dust cloud and its that scenari...
