Morning All Just finishing off some presentation stuff for a client's training session tomorrow. 'Risk Assessments ...or Pre Accident Investigation' ... Snappy tile eh.. Got to switch the thought process to undertaking suitable RAs. Their current ones are pages and pages of drivel, barely 10% releva...

Re: Risk assessment - how to get it right all the time?

Amazing that people are commenting about 'people reading the risk assessment'. There is no requirement for employees to read a risk assessment. Many more complex risk assessments will likely be totally beyond the comprehension and understanding of the people that most need to be protected. The Risk ...

Re: 6-year break

Welcome back Ian .salut
I'm still here, but I must say things are a bit quieter this past 18 months, including my own presence.
I love working with SMEs; my biggest is about 120 employees, but they're an educational charity.

I rescued this one from the local metal recycling skip about 3-4 years ago; it's still wedged in my shed door waiting for a home...

Re: SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR GUILTY FIRE RISK ASSESSOR

There's far too many people out there with 3rd part accreditation of letters after their name which don't really mean anything. I have a client who had such an individual in to assess their properties a couple of years ago. The individual did not provide a FRA as such; because the RRFSO states at S9...

Re: 4 year until charges were brought.....

I just thought I'd post an update on this case. In April this went to the Crown Court to enter pleas. Greenfeeds Limited denied two counts of corporate manslaughter and an offence under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act Stewart Brown, 67, of Fernwood Close in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, pleaded ...

Re: Bedroom doors opening on to stairs

The query is that whilst the central compartment has bedrooms along corridors and a lobby approach to the stairs either end of the corridor, both internal stairs have bedrooms which open directly on to the stairs - is this correct / acceptable normally? Premises have had FRA's carried out every yea...

Re: Government Response to Fire Consultation

An interesting read, most of which is fairly obvious. I've never understood FSO s9 (7)a to record "the significant findings of the assessment, including the measures which have been or will be taken by the responsible person pursuant to this Order" If they only record Significant findings ...

Re: Fire Strategy

I had an email drop in today from the FPA, including a link to this article. What is a fire strategy document? So this is their take on the term: https://www.thefpa.co.uk/news/fire-safety-advice-and-guidance/what-is-a-fire-strategy-document-?utm_source=gvconnect&utm_medium=email&utm_content=...
