Re: Acetone/IPA cleaning
I have a similar issue with some MSDS, but then that is why we do a COSHH Assessment, rather than just giving people the MSDS. Incidentally, in some places around the world, such as the USA, that's all that happens, the MSDS is made available. A classic case from last year, I was reviewing the COSH...

Re: Acetone/IPA cleaning
Depends how small the small components are. If you are talking electronics or jewellery, then acetone if fine, don't spray it on, either immerse the parts in the liquid rub the surface of the board with a brush and lift it out, shake off any drops back into the tank and close the lid. Acetone evapo...

Can you draw it and upload a picture? I can't for the life of me figure out the layout and I've read it 5 times, think it's just me though.

Re: Role of the H&S Manager
Late to the party on this one, but I found a presentation on the updated sentencing guidelines, along with some info on corporate manslaughter caused a tilt shift in attitude from those that had always said the operation comes first. There are some cracking examples out there that illustrate both p...

This seven da...

Hi Lily, What material are the parts being machined from and what is their final use? I may be able to suggest a different coating. Is the production team member in question directly handling the goods, or just in the same room? What is their PPE requirements? As for the WEL's, sorry I can't be of a...

What sort of driving are we talking about? Cars, Vans, HGV's? I did a Google search and read alot of grey information that gives no clear answer. Personally what I would do would be to speak with your insurance company and also check what is in the drivers contracts. I'm not an expert, but just my t...

Re: Safety of pressure systems
Within the ACoP there is a flowchart to see if the regulations apply (page 9 of the ACoP). The first item on the flowchart is 'does it contain a relevant liquid?' If not then Regs do not apply, I dont think your machine has a relevant liquid. Thanks for the response Will, I looked into the definiti...
