Re: NCRQ UPDATES IN THIS POST

I'm so gutted by this. I had planned to have it all finished last year but life got in the way. I had only in the last couple of weeks started back studying, and now this.
The silence from all corners is deafening

Re: NCRQ Diploma - What's going on?

Don't know if it's the same for you Alexis, but for me the whole Hatten website is down. It's all very mysterious

HMO Sprinkler question (Scotland)

Hi All. Our client is creating a 5 person HMO in a double upper flat. Escape is via a single stairwell. Looking at the June 2022 Building Standards Technical Handbook Table 2.4, the suggestion is that Automatic Suppression is required. Has anyone had any dealings with HMO's and whether they really n...

Re: Impact of concrete on wildlife and vegetation query

Thanks Grim72, That's exactly the info i was after. Thankfully I have already recommended measures to combat accidental release. Impact of concrete on wildlife and vegetation query

Hi all, Are there any experts here who can explain to me the risks associated with using/mixing/pouring concrete, specifically in relation to the impact it would have on wildlife and plant life. The location in question is a national nature reserve, Category ii protected area and site of special sci...

Re: Cameron House Hotel Fire. Porter Gets Light Touch From Court

I think this is a perfect example of poor "safety culture". Yes the porter has got off lightly but looking at the root causes: "The hotel ignored 2 x consecutive annual fire risk assessments and a warning from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service about the handling of the ash" ...

Question for CDM experts please

As a result of a recent fire risk assessment we carried out our client is needing to get some remedial work done on their building. The work will involve joiners, plumbers and electricians although each job relates to separate actions. The work won't be notifiable as it won't meet the criteria for t...

FRA 'tools'

Hi all, we are looking at moving away from paper (handwritten) fire risk assessments and start using a tablet/laptop based app/software.
Can anyone recommend anything that's worth having a look at. We currently use the PAS79 format.

Thanks

Fogging and COVID-19

Hi, does anyone have any information on the use of fogging machines to deep clean areas to protect against COVID-19.
I've found companies advertising but not anything on standards, requirements etc.

Any help appreciated
