Re: Health and Safety Online Management System
HI Safety, +1 for MyCompliance. We use it across 3 sites and 200 people in the waste industry. FIxed cost and easy to use, we use primarily the incident reporting and legal compliance sections. Get in touch with them and they will demo the system to you, they even set me up with a trial environment ...

Re: Fire hose testing
Thanks everyone for their input, its much appreciated. So, after much research guided by Messy and QS we have formulated something that sits pretty close to the BS. All our existing lay flat fire hoses are going to be pressure tested to their max rated value and logged / tagged. New hoses will have ...

Re: Fire hose testing
Thanks for that everyone, yes, its the layflat type we have in the bunkers along with the branches. Supply is from the towns mains with a maximum pressure of 6bar recorded so a test to 10bar would make sense. We have a good relationship with our fire extinguisher service engineer so will be picking ...

Hi everyone, Wonder if I can pick your brains regarding the periodic testing of layflat fire hoses? We have a number of fire points dotted around the site each contains 5 rolls of fire hose for use by our guys should a fire occur. This provision has been in place for a number of years however, this ...

Re: Fire Prevention Plan - Water-gate Barrier
Hi MSpurling, finally got round to digging out the information regarding our barriers. Bear in mind that these are large scale barriers for erecting across relatively long distances (ours is in the region of 30meters) and I am not sure if they do smaller ones. Due to the long length, we would place ...

Re: Fire Prevention Plan - Water-gate Barrier
Hi, we are in a similar industry and also needed barriers to control fire water run off. Our sites were designed and constructed so all the water drained towards the center of the site but we still needed to be able to control extreme circumstances. our barriers are flat packed for storage but are r...

Re: Covid reporting to local health protection team
Hi all, result!, just received a call back from our local PHE office and the following is a paraphrased email they sent me. Public Health England are interested in a second case if it is within 14 days of the previous cases, defining a cluster. Capture2.JPG taken from here. https://www.gov.uk/govern...

Hi everybody, On the NHS test and trace service website https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-workplace-guidance Capture.JPG they specify that more than 1 case of Covid in a workplace needs to be reported to the local health protection team. Now I dont have a problem with this but, for the ...
