Work at Heights

Afternoon all, I would appreciate some advice on this as it's not something I have a tremendous exposure too. It's regarding an engineering company that carries out maintenance works at different locations, potentially 5-10 visits a year on flat roofs with no edge protection etc, in fact everything ...

Re: CDM Regs : signing in/out each day

These charges have not gone down well with plenty of friction on site no. A busy site with over 100 individuals your always get some who forget.
Considering the site has poor welfare I’d of been more concerned with that, but big house builders have their own agendas clapclap

CDM Regs : signing in/out each day

It’s been stated by a client that HSE say that it’s a legal requirement to sign in/out each day. Obviously this is important, but I just can’t find in the CDM Regs HSE stating this, only references to site inductions etc. Also clients will have their own take on this. Just some clarification on this...

Re: Accident on site your views?

Sorry yes the pipe length was 1.2m so maybe it could of easily been caught and a valid point raised, would you consider the act of throwing the pipe as just a freak accident at that point then?

Re: Risk Assessments

Yes I had it withdrawn, and yes nepotism and maybe a bit to out spoken or to honest, and regards to the inspection I highlighted to areas they missed, which was relayed back to the office and I think that’s part of the reason to.

I was offered a health and safety position at my company after completing my NCRQ Diploma, I'm also a holder of a NEBOSH Construction with 20 odd years on construction sites as a ganger so pretty adverse to the risk of working on sites. Re: What’s suitable manual handling training?

It’s a groundwork’s/landscaping company . The risk assessment actually refers to manual handling training and correct lifting techniques :D. My manager is adamant that the information supplied in the employees handbooks covers the company for manual handling training.

What’s suitable manual handling training?

Evening, What would you regard as sufficient Manual Handling training? Im only asking as we’ve just had an audit from our NFU RISK Management team. My employer has stated that the induction period in which they carry out for new employees counts as sufficient training ( this is what the NFU s...
