Re: Hospice Care/Care Sector Health & Safety
Thank you, that is very useful. My wife works in a cancer hospital and I can see how it effects her sometimes, she has even seen old school friends in there who have sadly gone on to pass away. I understand hospices are very upbeat (they have to be for the patients), hope I can add to that as well a...

Re: IOSH Peer review interview
Hi All I have just had my PRI this morning. Like Anders501 I feel like I have failed, guess only time will tell. The interview started off well and I felt confident having done my presentation and answering the questions on risk assessment and accident investigation. Then :( questions on health surv...

Re: IOSH Peer review interview
When I went for my Peer review I was terrified and my palms were sweating, even though I was reminded beforehand that 1) you have done all the hard work, the hard work is the reason you are in the room 2) its a peer review - the word peer is important here - Definition - a person who is an equal , ...

NVQ L5 Complete!
Hi all NVQ complete, just need verification, which I am told will take around 2 weeks depending on the workload of the assessors. Such a relief to have it done, what a long hard slog it was! It was really tough going at first but I do think the units get easier and a little shorter after the first 5...

I have now completed the first 2 assessments on HSD2 and I have to say I have learned loads and enjoying the process. Especially interesting was the stress management part of the course. Looking forwa...

Re: NEBOSH / NVQ L5 / NCRQ my thoughts
Reflecting back, I think NEBOSH general certificate and a whole lot of experience is the way to go in becoming a competent health and safety professional. The higher qualifications just give you that edge, especially when applying for jobs.

How detailed is the NCRQ Diploma?
Hi all, I am currently doing the NVQ 5 in H&S, I am finding it okay but don't feel I am learning as much as I'd have hoped. I am considering paying for the NCRQ Diploma out of my own pocket, just to accelerate my learning, and gain an extra qualification. My question really is how far in depth d...
