Re: NEBOSH Diploma Results

Hi Reece, Yes I studied the two at one time in both sittings (last January and now July), it was probably not wise to do so. I'm planning to stick with it, but from now on only one unit at a time. I've B and C left to pass. I passed Unit A with 2% to spare and ironically got near 60 in the DNI assig...

NEBOSH Diploma Results

How did people get on? I failed my remaining two units for the third time now. Pretty devastated as I'd really put in double the time I did for the previous results and believed I had the knowledge cracked, but came out two percent lower in both exams. It just seems like luck is what matters with NE...

Re: AED maintenance

Good Morning ./thumbsup.. While not knowing your local arrangements, suggest sign up to manufacturer's website for any updates (software) and also to the MHRA for advisories - e.g: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/faulty-defibrillator-users-urged-to-check-battery-connection WB Thanks WB, have sig...

Re: AED maintenance

I've just done a full service on ours, literally this week. I replaced all 10 batteries and replaced the pads. That's about as much as can be done as far as I know, the batteries were all showing a charge but replaced with the pads after 5 years, the gel starts to dry up apparently. More than that ...

AED maintenance

We got a brand new AED three years ago and thankfully it's never had to be used in anger as yet. It's subject to regular visual checks in terms of pads, batteries and response kit (mask, razor, towels, gloves). It's also tested monthly using the self-test feature and comes back all clear. I've never...

Re: Diploma Results - Due 25/9?

Congratulations to everyone who got a successful result today and commiserations over the ones that got away. Definitely challenging exams, very similar to professional entry exams to law societies and such, in level of detail they seem to look for. Yep, well I guess that's the way it is; at the en...

Re: First Aid and GDPR

From a first aid point of view, I think that if a SAMPLE history is taken during the incident most of these medical issues would come out either from the patient or from third parties who know them. I suppose that's been my experience both in the workplace and out as a volunteer with St. John Ambula...

Re: Diploma Results - Due 25/9?

Got Unit A this time, back to Unit B and C in January.

Definitely the hardest exams I've sat to date, at university level on the same kind of exam I'd have passed all three and have the qualification by now. NEBOSH seem to be real sticklers in terms of marks.

Re: First Aid and GDPR

Data concerning health is classed as (and has always been) special category data which requires that in order to process it (i.e. provide it to first aiders or for any other processing) you must have explicit consent from the individual data subject. The best way of recording this consent would be i...

NEBOSH Exams 17-19th July

Anyone sat the exams in this week? Had my first shot at them all, they didn't seem too bad but I'm a little worried that I hadn't the topics down to a sufficient detail that is (alleged) to be associated with NEBOSH examinations. Obviously we cannot post any example of the questions for copyright re...

Re: Help! Lifting & Handling in Wheelchair

Perhaps the best way to start would be watch how they currently do the manual handling tasks, then have a discussion with them on this. Take the manual handling principles and discuss the best way of implementing the principles for the individual. I can imagine in a wheel chair the issues could be ...
