Re: IDipNEBOSH to MSc: Hull vs Middelsex vs Greenwich
Have you considered the PG Cert / PG Diploma / Msc course on offer from the University of Strathclyde? It is offered via distance learning and is focused on Safety and Risk Management.

The NEBOSH Diploma OHS exams are each set at three hours each, not sure about the Environmental Diploma duration.

Re: Chartered Status Duration
Hi. There is no longer a time frame to wait after becoming a graduate member before being awarded chartered. Depending on the mode of study you completed to register as a graduate member will dictate whether you complete a mini NVQ style or online exam based IPD. After registering as a graduate memb...

Re: Postgraduate certificate
If I was engaging with a consultant the pre requisite would be chartered membership of IOSH, I wouldn't be too fussed if they held a post grad or other qualification. I would be looking for practical hands on evidence they are competent to carry out the task for me effectively.

Re: Activity, job and task analysis... help!
Hi. They are all slightly different however all look at the task in further detail to identify hidden hazards and potential for human failure. See below link from the HSE's website which gives a bit more understanding: http://www.hse.gov.uk/humanfactors/resources/understanding-the-task.pdf Regards.

Re: DSEAR Risk Assessment
Thanks, yes I agree that previous assessments may be worthless and that is probably a bad example.
Might look at going on a training course, I see the Health & Safety Laboratory run a course, has anyone attended this?

Re: Diploma Done: Over-All thoughts (Mine Only)
After recently passing the NEBOSH Diploma, I would encourage everyone who aspires to become a Chartered Member of IOSH to start the IPD process asap, strike whilst the iron is hot so to speak. I would recommend the NEBOSH diploma to my peers as I found it very beneficial and with covering a wide ran...

Peer Review Passed
Found out last week that I have passed the IOSH peer review process. Overall the Chartership journey took me 3 months to complete, doing the skills development portfolio route and being awarded Grad IOSH in August. If anyone has any questions regarding the process feel free to get in touch. Regards....

Re: H&S Qualifications
Agree with above, however after the Nebosh Diploma you have the option of completing a Masters degree in OHS from a number of Uni's throughout the UK. You could also consider completing other general certificate courses such as construction, fire etc.
