Re: Christmas Safety Campaigns
14 people suffered a non-fatal fall from height in the workplace every day in 2019/20, according to the most recent RIDDOR statistics released by HSE. That's a great one, thank you - will work well within my workplace too as we have a number of WAH tasks so this will help raise more awareness of co...

Re: Policy Wording - Employee Vs Colleague??
Thanks Alexis - nice to see a friendly face
Yeah my logic does appear to be on the same page as yours - our HR dept can be quite precious about "tone" policies and so on.

Policy Wording - Employee Vs Colleague??
Hi All you helpful lot... As the title says really - I'm wording our companies policy and they have changed the "tone" of their other policies etc and requested the same from the H&S Policy - does it really matter which I use or should it be "employee" to keep it in line with...

Re: Storing Petrol Safely.....?
Hi Alexis  Sorry I've neglected the forum for some time, work got HECTIC!! Thanks very much Siblo, I'll look at alternatives on the back of that advice. To be honest, if we have a jerrycan handy and "ready to go" in an emergency, theres a fuel station round the corner we could use. T...

Storing Petrol Safely.....?
Hi all - LONG time no speak :D So as part of my companies Disaster Recovery plan - we're looking at having 2 x small generators (man portable, lightweight) to provide power to our servers to ensure we can get back online and on the phones. All ratings etc have been considered and we're happy with th...

Re: Stepping up H&S
Hi Siblo Looks like you need some form of PQQ (Pre Qualifying Questionnaire) for issuing to sub-contractors etc. A quick google search should pull up some templates. Once these are in you can assess their credentials (insurances, RAMS, H&S Policy etc etc) and renew/review accordingly. Will also ...

Wow, how you managed to keep that to yourself is pretty amazing. Completely understand why you've done it though.
Glad to hear everything is ok.

Re: Time spent in one company
Hi Gav (apologies - this is a LONG one) Well here goes with my story - I served in the Royal Marines for 11 years before enrolling in a NEBOSH suite (General, Fire & Construction Certificates) as my resettlement. On leaving I managed to land on my feet (so I thought) with some freelance tutor ty...

Re: Is this an accident at work
I do agree with you in essence Keith - however, having had a "non-accident" recorded for investigation (prior to my arrival at the business it was with), the IP made a claim and due to it being recorded we (the employer I was with at the time) had "admitted an incident took place"...
