Re: IOSH Peer review interview

I had my PRI last month and I was so nervous. I had completed so much pre-reading to remind myself of key areas, as well as the IOSH Code of Conduct. I'm not based in UK so felt I needed to have a good read through lots of things on the HSE website as a refresher. The PRI was conducted via Skype. I'...

Re: NCRQ HSD1 Complete

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Assignment 1 of HSD2 came back with a Distinction. I'm extremely pleased and I guess it reflects the time and effort I put in due to it being totally new to me. Just requested Ass 2. @Endure2341 - totally agree with the comments regarding speaking to the tutors...

NCRQ HSD1 Complete

Hi Folks, Well after a rocky start to my NCRQ studies with a referral for the first assignment I've managed to finish the first certificate, HSD1 with a Distinction. I'm totally over the moon, I must admit I thought I was winging it a bit, but turns out I know more that I give myself credit for! I'm...

Re: Electric kettle fire

Afdmello, I see you are based in Qatar, and without sounding disparaging was the kettle manufactured to European / British / US standards? I'm currently working in the ME and have come across numerous electrical appliances poorly manufactured and not compliant to either European / British or US stan...

Re: Grease extraction System

We had an in house maintenance team and were looking at completing the cleaning of our kitchen canopies, ducting, extraction systems etc. After reading TR19 and the relevant advice on methods & frequencies etc, we ended up utilising the services of a local specialist contractor. They provided al...

Is This Considered a LTI?

Hi Guys, We've had an incident at work where 2 employees have got into a scuffle and one has received an injury which has resulted in him being off work for a few days. We have addressed all the disciplinary and legal aspects such as local police etc but I'm not entirely sure if this should now be c...

Employment Advice

Hi All, I wasn't sure where to post this, so I decided here may be a good fit. This is a post requesting some HR / Employment issue advice if anyone can help? It seems I'm to become the victim of the old, "we're looking to make some cuts" scenario! I currently work on a 3/3 rotation, no ba...

Re: 14001 Lifecycle Perspective

Thanks WB,

Some useful info here.

We managed to gain all 3 standards so I'm a happy guy. Just a few minors to rectify. Been a long 6 months but worth it in the end. Learned a lot along the way too, EMS by far my weakest area!

Cheers

Anybody able to offer some advice or guidance here as I'm st...
