Re: Man down alarms

Hi Paul

Have you thought about using one of the various "man down" apps that are available? Not sure if your drivers are equipped with a company smart phone but it could be something worth looking in to.

Re: FLT Movements and Road Conditions

We have had the areas by the entrance doors scuffed up by a contractor to provide a bit more grip. Also agree that it sounds like a behavioural issue with the drivers not taking into account the weather conditions.

Re: Question on Training Standards

In many areas of UK law the government has provided extensions to cover periods where training and certification are required (MOT, driving licences, first aid etc).

Have you tried giving diving@hse.gov.uk a go? They should be able to provide answers to your questions.

Re: IOSH Level 3 Safety and Health for Business

I would also consider the NCRQ Certificate in Applied Health and Safety, this is done through an online portal with no exams, assessment is through essays and reports on the various subject matter. If your assistant then likes H&S they can bolt on other courses which can ultimately lead to a dip...

Re: Risk assessment - how to get it right all the time?

My quick take on the subject. How to get it right all the time - simple answer you can't, what you can do is keep reviewing and to keep on learning, chasing perfection will just drive you insane. Although there is no requirement to show employees RA's I feel that involving staff gives you greater bu...

Re: Plasma Cutter Training

If you look on the AJAN website it says they provide training, though i'm not sure how suitable this would be for your work situation. Quite a few colleges do hand held plasma cutting training, haven't seen any for CNC plasma cutting, it may be worth giving your local engineering college a ring to s...

Re: New NEBOSH Fire Certificate course

To be fair NEBOSH are only changing because they have been put under pressure from NCRQ, i'm guessing that they have lost quite a bit of business and have decided to try and stem the flow of lost business. I have a foot in both camps, and although I have the NCRQ Diploma I do feel that I have missed...

Re: Roll Cages

Hello and welcome

I would point out to your management team this case:

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/w ... nt-9602894

This was 8 years ago and cost £2.2m + costs, today it would be somewhere near the £10m mark. Hope it helps

Regards
