Employee Safety Reps

Post by diamondno1 » Tue Aug 08, 2017 9:56 pm

Hi All
Im looking at the representative of employee safety representative roles and responsibilities within our company structor as we are not a union based company.
Do any of you have a procedure/policy on this? could you share ?
Would we be able to appoint them rather than voting as i think these people should show a keen intrest and commitment to be a employee safety representative and not just a tick box skive

Any advice would be welcomed .salut

Hello Diamond,

With regards to appointing Safety Reps rather than having them voted in, the HSE ACOP and guidance document may assist with this query:

http://www.hse.gov.uk/pUbns/priced/l146.pdf

When I get into work tomorrow I'll have a look at our procedure and see if it helps answer any of your questions. If you don't mind me asking, which sector / industry are you currently in?

Wendo .salut
You are only a millimetre or a millisecond away from the next incident.

I have just set up a committee with volunteers - smallish operation and will follow the guidelines from the HSE

If you think safety is a pain, try a leg fracture.
