Post by PeteClark »

Hi Guys,

Does anyone here know how I would go about starting a career offshore (North Sea Rig's)

I am 42 & currently work as QHSE Manager for a plant hire company.

The main problem that you are going to have breaking into H&S offshore is a lack of experience in the industry. They are very particular about industry knowledge. I work for a training organisation in Aberdeen and we get requests for training from several companies stating the instructor must have offshore experience.
The only bit of advice I could give would be try to get a job offshore outwith H&S then try for internal transfer.
