Executive Summary :
"The Work and Health Lancet Series starts to explore the complex relationship between what we do for work and how we do that work and its impact on our health. It highlights that the health community has been too focused on narrow occupational hazards and safety rather than work and working conditions as a social determinant of health.
Paper one aims to correct this by developing a conceptual framework and identifies six emerging challenges including the influence of technology on the nature of work, and the looming threat of climate change’s effect on work.
Paper two explores work related causes of mental health conditions.
Paper three takes a life course approach to look at health and an inclusive labour participation."
