Lead auditor 9001

Post by Adriank »

Hi,

I am interested in becoming a Lead Auditor I am currently employed as a SHE Advisor with 4 years experience NEBOSH general currently studying NEBOSH diploma.

Looking round on the internet there is a vast amount of course providers does anybody have any recommendations preferably near Nottinghamshire?

What's the job market like for auditors?

Any advice on becoming a lead auditor greatly welcomed.

Thanks for reading.

Pick the cheapest as long as its IRCA accredited, they're all rubbish anyway. nobody fails unless they are thick as 2 short planks.

When 45001 comes out, do that one too, I think employment with a certification body would be readily achieved for you. 2 reasons 45001 will be massive take up and currently they use "external resource" consultants a lot for 18001, so they are short with "safety specialists"

Although if you pass your diploma you would probably get better money as a safety officer with a decent company.

Cheers and Good Luck

I'm going to disagree with your choice of words here. The 18001 lead auditors course I was on wasn't rubbish in the slightest, but I may have a different perception to you on what that might be. In fact, it was one of the most memorable courses I have ever been on.

I didn't fail mine, but I tried my hardest, put the effort in because the course required it and I managed to do OK.

My point is, to generalise courses (regardless of what they are) as rubbish and that if people fail they are thick as 2 short planks, can very easily have a negative effect on somebody studying these courses who may not find them as easy as you might.

I did my Auditor training with BSI and to date was some of the best training I've had.

I'd tend to use recognised and well known companies that certify to the ISO standards.

I've done some 'cheaper' training also and I believe the old saying is true - You get what you pay for. :)

I did my LA 9001:2015 credited to IRCA, l also have 18001 and 14001 combined with NGC. Was it worth while. To date nope. Not even a sniff of a job. Hopefully when and if l get the Diploma it might. But as the days go on and applications go out unanswered l start to get the feeling that this is me finished.
