Quite often when I click to view the 'general' section, I find that new posts have fallen off of the front page. As there is no 'page 2' for this section, I then have to refresh the page to see which of the topic specific areas have posts I've not read, and click on each of those in turn. Not a massive hassle, but not particularly efficient.
The general section displays 25 topics on the front page. Of these, 16 are stickied threads, meaning that there is only space for nine others.
Perhaps the default number of topics to display in the general thread could be increased? I can't imagine that that would have any noticeable impact upon loading times / server demand.

We often think that when we have completed our study of one we know all about two, because 'two' is 'one and one.' We forget that we still have to make a study of 'and.'

It's a good point, thanks very much
I'll review the stickies and see if they are all still necessary and current.
Increasing the number of topics per page is easy, but I'd need to check to see if it has an impact on people using portable devices.

witsd - If you look above the Forum Rules orange strip close to the top of the general section, (or any section) you will see 5 notes....View unanswered posts, View active topics, View unread posts, View new posts, View your posts.........by clicking on one of them, it will come up with each of these topics which should help with your query.
