Hi guys,
Little lost with this question
Outline factors that would need to be covered in the training of personnel who have been given responsibilities for fire safety on a large refurbishment project.
My instant thought would be to describe project, make duties clear and plan evacuation procedures so that they can be communicated properly...
but I'm just stabbing in the dark here.. help?
Thanks guys,
Nikki

To be honest, I do not really know what is meant by the term 'factors', but the question is bound to refer to a list somewhere the bibliography for this course - so that's a good place to start
However, as the question relates to a 'large refurbishment project', I am sure looking here may help
CDM http://www.hse.gov.uk/construction/cdm/2015/summary.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Good luck

I'd have thought that the angle they are looking at here is the 'refurbishment project'; therefore staff may be familiar with the previous/existing layout, but you're going to have to keep them appraised of changes, both temporary and permanent.
This could include changes to escape routes, location of extinguishers etc.

Re: Fire Safety question NCC1
Hi Bernicarey, It being a refurbishment project wouldn't necessarily mean people would be familiar.. as multiple contractors can be involved in refurbishment. Messy, I'm not sure if CDM would cover fire training other than preparing the PCI/CPP elements of pre-construction and construction phase.
I'm not entirely sure I'd be happy to get this question then! I've studied this course back to front and I hope all questions aren't as vague as this one. I shall just cover what is below and hope for the best
The syllabus guide gives this as the guide to what we are supposed to learn in terms of content.
Means of escape:
- travel distances
- stairs
- passageways
- doors
- emergency lighting
- exit and directional signs
- assembly points
- need for continual review as construction activity progresses.
Evacuation of a construction workplace
Emergency evacuation procedures:
- appointment of fire marshals
- fire instructions; training
- fire drills
- roll call
- provisions for the infirm and disabled.

Hi Woodie,
Yes I have the book of plenty, in fact I have both
The CDM list is perfect and almost certainly gives me food for thought.
Thanks
