Construction unit
Hi guys
Quick question please,
just received my NEBOSH general cert and would really like to go on and complete the Construction unit,
do you think this is ideal to do now or give a bit of time for my brain to recover
Cheers

Re: Construction unit
I would say GO FOR IT as well. You have already completed the NGC so all you would need is the Hazards and Controls portion and complete your construction related project! You are half way there!

Re: Construction unit
Thanks, that's the part I haven't got my head round yet,
NCG 1 2 and 3 contributing to the Construction unit, sounds good though if I haven't to resit any of those
must look into that first
Cheers

There are companies that offer a conversion course.
NGC 1 (General cert ) is the same as NCC 1 (Construction Cert) so you dont need to do this part.
You would still need to complete NCC 2 (Hazards) as mentioned and NCC 3 which is similar to NGC 3 except based around construction.
Hope this clears it up for you.

Re: Construction unit
Hi
I have to correct Will slightly, just in regards the actual Unit titles; it's a very common confusion over the way they codify the units..
The Certificates (General, Fire and Construction) all share unit NGC1.
So The NGC consists of NGC1, NGC 2 and NGC 3
The Fire Certificate consists of NGC 1, FC1 and FC 2.
The Construction Certificate consists of NGC1, NCC1 and NCC2.
Similar crossover occurs with the international certificates.
See this chart : https://www.nebosh.org.uk/fileupload/up ... 441122.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Which makes it as clear as mud, unless you understand their colour indicator process. So the Dark Brown is for the National Construction Certificate.

Re: Construction unit
Hi Bernicarey
Wow that certainly clears things up
Thank you for that but lets not get into the colours eh !
after all that I just heard from the training centre and there's no local interest in
construction NEBOSH so they aren't running a course in the near future
back to the drawing board then

Re: Construction unit
Hi, I just finished my National General Certificate and currently struggling to find a job in the construction industry( 4 months nearly). To add, that I don't have any solid experience working on a construction project only at construction sites as a welfare operative supervisor assistant. Ok and due to this struggle to find a job as a health and safety advisor or a trainee job I was thinking to go for the Construction Certificate just to boost my chances, although is not a big difference (material wise) between them. Related to the exams you have to sit in order to have the Construction Certificate you said that are NCC2 & NCC3, I had asked two Nebosh career advisers and they say is NCC 1 and NCC 2 I have to resist, so I'll have to ask them again and discuss. What will you recommend, is it worth doing the Construction Certificate, can it enhance my chances for being employed?
Kind regards,
Bianca

Re: Construction unit
In my opinion, you need to go for it. Recently, I have completed my training course from SSSTS and going to work in a construction industry. I hope this will provide me good experience and now I am confidence enough to work in this field.
