ngc1 :(

Post by Stu_J »

Hi All,

I took the gen. cert exams in May and have just had my results, what I initially thought was me being extremely unlucky now appears to be the other way round, as I scored 39 in ngc1, 45 in gc2 and 60 in gc3, the latter two I believe are the absolute minimum scores needed just to pass?
quite worryingly I actually thought they went ok, so I'm a bit stumped moving forward. My course provider can fit me in for an ngc1 resit at the end of this month, which would give me just under 3 weeks to prepare for, but without having to worry about gc2 at least. Do you think this is enough time or should I wait until September?

On another note, am I correct in guessing that the paper I will sit will be the exact same one as what I did in May?

Thanks for your help

Hi Stu.
A very warm welcome to you.

Congratulations on your 2 passes. clapclap clapclap

Firstly, in answer to your query about sitting the exact same paper as you had in May, the answer is no. It will be a different paper for your resit.

Your other question regarding opinions as to whether 3 weeks would be enough time for your resit, this would depend upon how much time you can give to study. In my opinion it would be possible and may even be the best way forward as it is all still fresh in your mind. However, you do have up to 5 years to complete your NGC totally, so you do have options.

If you decide to go for the resit in three weeks I would suggest you do exam papers in exam conditions every day and check your answers against examiners reports which you can find in the NEBOSH website.

Hope this helps a bit and good luck with your resit. Let us know how you get on. .salut

Hi Alexis - thank you so much for your help.

Going to rebook for the 8th Aug as the location fits better and just under 4 weeks should be enough.

Am I right in thinking its about 50 days to get my result, so I should find out early/mid Oct?

Thanks again

Hi Stu. I would have done the same as you and go for the resit quickly and yes you should have your results by then. ;)

Sorry I didn't give you links last night. Was a bit sleepy when I replied.

From our main site pages. Lots of flash cards and helpful information, plus otto's printable information that covers all of the NGC1. https://www.healthandsafetytips.co.uk/b ... ment-paper
