Exam completed

Post by Lex1212189 »

Just finished my two nebosh exams.

Mixed emotions really. Came out the first exam feeling really confident!! Didnt stumble on any question (i think). The 20 point question fell like a dream for me. As it was a huge talking point at my last union health and safety meeting.

Didnt come out of the workplace hazards exam the same. Hand was aching like mad (not used to writing so much) and I was running out of time so my handwriting legibility dropped !! Also i started writing in bullet points due to time constraints. Ahhhhh

Going to be a long ten weeks !!

Haha! Everything you said there rings true!!! Nebosh seems to have switched the easy exam around! I found the first exam really easy, answers just seemed to flow for it, then came the beast of gc2....wow, apart from one or two questions I found it really hard. Like you I came out of ngc1 thinking wow this is not too bad to that, lol pretty certain I'm gona have a referral for it to be honest. In the end I just jotted down anything that could scrape me an extra mark! Well what's done is done just hope I have enough to scrape through a pass!

Everyone else in the class thought the same so at least we aren't the only ones lol, roll on august!

My whole second paper was bullet points tbh! Hope I dont loose too many marks because of it !! Obviously i wrote in paragraphs for explain questions.

What was your favourite question over the 2 exams?

It was probably the one where it asked to identify the three requirements of a health and safety policy, easy marks there! I must admit, in the second paper I probably over used semi colons but hey ho wasn't aiming for top marks when I saw the questions 😂

Hope you two and everyone else did well.

There are always doubts after exams and the wait is the devil itself, so just sit back and enjoy the summer. :D

They usually come just a little earlier, but as with everything NEBOSHy, they may not. ;)

The happy day will arrive quicker than you think. :D

Rocketman, i personally dont feel the questions will be in the same. Maybe similiar with different wordings though. More experienced members of this forums may advise......

Here are some of the questions I can remember

1) factors to be considered when deciding on the provision of first aid

2) hazards involved with using a circular saw

3) Control measures for using circular saw

4) Control measures for using chemicals in an enclosed space

5) type of injuries caused through manual handling

6) ways management can improve safety culture within org

7) 3 parts of health and safety policy

Wether any questions like this are on past, or future exams I think its important you know these anyway :)

Good luck

Thank you very much, Lex!

You never know I could get the same paper as you and this could be very helpful!

But don't worry I intend on revising every subject again over the next few days.

Good luck with your results
Thanks again...

Hi Rocketman.

I personally don't think it is likely the questions will be the same, so why not put away your study material with the exception of simple prompt cards and do a couple of past papers each day for a couple of days?

Getting into the exam mode is just as important as answering the questions in the way NEBOSH require them to be answered and not in the way we did it at school.

Timing of each question is important, so by practising the timing of each question (I used a maximum of 9 mins per question and moved on regardless if complete or not). My own method worked well and left me time at the end to go over the paper and even add to the larger questions.

Another good thing to remember is....go to the question that you know for sure, make sure you put the question number beside it though and do that one first. This gives you confidence and settles any of those nerves.

I am sure you will be fine on the day.

Good luck Rocketman. .salut
