Accident not reported

Post by Lucajw »

Hi all, I'm after some advise, a year ago in February I fell at work on a wet roof and broke my elbow.
I was a sub contractor but should really have been employed as I've worked for the company for 5 years.
I was thinking of putting a claim in but the company have said I'll loose my job if I do and also they didn't report the incident to RIDDOR.
What options do I have?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Luca

Welcome to the forums :hello2:

Sorry to hear about your incident and how it was managed.

If your company has not reported it to the HSE you can always phone the HSE & let them know about the incident and that they have not reported it and you can do this anonymously.

As for making a claim, you can do this as well and if they do terminate your employment there is also another claim/tribunal that you would be able to take that case to.

Are you a member of a union? They maybe able to assist you.

If not I would go and pay a visit to Citizens advice to get the best advice as how to move forward on this.
