Been a while
Hello all. I subscribed to this site in 2014 and haven't been back for over 3 years. I took a distant learning course (NEBOSH Gen Cert) with Phoenix H&S. I read a chapter and threw the book to one side, I just couldn't retain what I was reading and it was some what confusing. So I am back and I am thinking about studying again for my NEBOSH.

Re: Been a while
Well hello Pete! Great to see you again.
The time wasn't right for you back then. Sounds like it is now though!
Good luck with the re-study. You already know how these forums and our main site downloads will help.

NEBOSH vs NVQ vs NCRQ
Thank you for the encouragement Will & Alexis I was just looking on the site and came across A new alternative to NEBOSH.
NEBOSH - NVQ - or NCRQ
I learn by doing/on the job, I find it difficult reading a book and trying to retain information for an exam so thinking of an alternative to NEBOSH. I can't study for the NVQ as I am not working in a safety-related role with some degree of autonomy so looked at the NCRQ.
Has anyone got an opinion of the NCRQ path, is it the equivalent to NEBOSH and would the qualification get me a job in H&S. Advice greatly appreciated.
Pete
ps is Sandra still on the site?

As for the NCRQ route, go to the search function at the top right hand corner of this page, key in NCRQ and all the past posts on it will answer your question.

Just started NCRQ
Hello all
I have finally taken the plunge after years of thinking about a H&S course. I have recently started the NCRQ principles of Health & Safety and you know what, I am loving it. It is easily set out, readable and has various activities that get your brain working. I am not very big at studying (being an old dog and all that ) but I am on case study 5 and all I can think about is getting home from work and opening my book to crack on. I was never like that with the previous NEBOSHH books, after a week they got thrown in a corner and got forgotten about. two more case studies and my first big challenge, my first assignment (worried!!!!)
anyway ta ta for now
