Resus UK - LifeSaver - Interactive Crisis Simulator
'Lifesaver is crisis simulator, which fuses interactivity and live-action film to teach CPR in a new way, on your computer, smartphone or tablet. And it’s completely free.
Lifesaver is a live-action movie you play like a game. It just happens to show you how to save someone's life.
It throws you into the heart of the action, changing what happens in movies showing real people in real places.
You learn by doing: do it wrong, and see the consequences; do it right, and sense the thrill of saving a life.'

Re: Resus UK - LifeSaver
That right there is one of the most innovative educational tools I've ever seen. This will help save countless lives.
I completed the first scenario with Jake and it really immerses you into the video. My heart was going by the end of it!
I tried this on the iPhone and it works brilliantly as well.
Please share this and maybe get your kids involved.
Great find WB

Re: Resus UK - LifeSaver
At risk of you folks all swamping the Resus Council with requests....
I noticed that their website said they had made a DVD version for Schools and Hospitals who didn't have good enough internet connection to play it online.
As I sometimes provide FAW training where there is not a suitable WiFi service, I asked if the DVD were still available so that I could use it to illustrate the tension and pressure of a real incident to my FAW delegates.
A very nice lady at the Resus Council says she will post one out to me. Result!

Re: Resus UK - LifeSaver
Got my disc in the post today.
Gave it a try on the laptop and it works fine.
Added bonus is that it won't show that the scene has already been played if the disc is closed/reopened, i.e. the next time I use it.
Having interacted with it a few times now, I actually still feel quite involved in the emotion of the incidents (but then I'm a big softie at heart) so I can't wait to try it out on a course and see what they make of it, racing the clock for decisions.
Nice work from the Resus Council UK.

Nice work from the Resus Council UK.
I know the Resus Council well as they set all clinical guidelines for basic and advanced life support for medical personnel across the UK once international standards issued (review every 4 years) . Next update due Oct 2015

My 18001 Auditor has asked several times how I ensure that my First Aid team are keeping on top of their practical skills - may have to wave this at him
