Hi
I am also interested in the National Diploma which I will be self funding. Can I choose any course provider or does it make a difference which one you choose. ATM appear to be the cheapest and I am considering this and then just knuckling down with study material from a range of sources. Does anyone have any specific advice, I would appreciate any thoughts, thanks

Hey mcorma, welcome to the forums :D :wave:

Your question has been asked a few times on the forums, have a wee search for some thoughts.

This was a recent one - viewtopic.php?f=12&t=29793" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's not always just a case of going for the cheapest, but you are doing the right thing by doing your homework on providers. Have a read of some of the comments on the forums, maybe post a separate topic of your own once you have done that and see what people say then.

It's difficult to say who is best as most people generally have different expectations and experiences from each provider. Many factors to consider.

Theodor

Welcome to the forums :wave:

Unfortunately I have had no dealings with either of these providers, I am sure other members will assist later on though

I would suggest that whatever provider you choose they should coach you in the way to write answers the way NEBOSH like them structured.

Hey Theodor, welcome to the forums :D :wave:

I've not used either of these providers either, but to answer your question, it can be done by self study. Would I do it? Not a chance!

I need tuition face to face, working with classmates etc. I'm just not clever enough to do it all by myself.

You may be different though ;)

I did distance learning through RRC for my certificate, they were really helpful and offered advice where I needed it but now that I am doing my diploma I chose Face to Face - and after working through Unit A its definately the best decision I made. RRC trainers know their stuff. however I cannot speak for Shields as I have never used them although I also hear good things about them too
