Unit A although the Unit B paper that I got was an absolute howler.
Unit C i passed quite easily. The other two I'm still struggling with.

Re: Payments of On call Rota????
I'm not on call but am expected to be at the end of the phone 24/7 365 days a week. I get paid no more for this and have many times had to take calls on a Saturday/Sunday or holiday even. I remember once looking at holiday photos and a fair few had me on my phone or emailing, this was the point I sa...

Dubai
Hey all
Does anyone have any experience of working within Dubai?
We're looking to start an entity over there and I'm trying to look into the health, safety and environmental legislation, I'm not really getting very far to be fair.
Thanks.

Re: 5S - (LEAN)
I've done this before.
Was ok for about 6 months or so then became quite tedious.
Our old HSE manager swore by it though but aside from a clean up tool, I don't particularly like it.

Re: Fire extinguishers
I believe that sourcing locally would be the best way forward.
I think its for ease of using our suppliers in the UK, raising POs etc but I will be suggesting local is the way to go.
The buying isn't the issue, its the ongoing maintenance etc as you mentioned.
Cheers for confirmation!

Fire extinguishers
Hey all.
Quick one.
We're setting up a facility in the Netherlands and are shipping various items over, my question is relating to fire extinguishers, are we ok to use UK fire extinguishers there? Google isn't helping.
Thanks.

Yep, get it all the time. Was only yesterday my uncle (retired engineer from the good old days) was discussing accidents, I mentioned how the majority are completely avoidable to which he took um-bridge with the usual H&S gone mad attitude, so we had some examples ie. got out of bed and tripped,...

Re: Hi-vis
I agree with what you state, it was a relevant finding to be fair although the way they come across is that your worksafe is the unsafest in the world, we had 3 breaches which were applicable and i agreed with to an extent, had there been no 'fee for intervention' would there have been as much focus...

Hi-vis
Hey all. Quick question, we had a visit from the HSE last week, which went quite well although we have some actions we require to take relating to workplace transport and our lack of hi-vis. Currently our guys wear blue coveralls with the reflective stripes, now the stripes aren't classed as high-vi...
