Re: Emergency Lighting - Drain down testing
I was informed by a member of the Fire and Rescue Service that the drain down test can be less than 1hr, depending on the time you take to empty the building during an evacuation. We could do it at my last place with 5 workshops in 8 mins inc. rollcall so a 30 min drain down would be sufficient. Obv...

Waste Water treatment question
Morning all,
I am wondering if there are any of our members who are in the waste water field. I am looking for information regarding Biosolids training courses for myself.

Re: First Aid needs assessment
Have you mapped where previous first aid/medical treatment cases have occurred? maybe zones with a higher accident rate can determine what you need in these areas.

I think you have to look further than no RAMS as the root cause. Why were there no RAMS?

Re: The Personal Protective Equipment at Work ( Amendment) Regulations 2022
If your company policy specifies that all contractors must wear x.y.z which is the same requirements of your workforce then surely A. It is up to the contractor to supply and B. You can refuse them entry if they are not wearing it all.

Another interview technique which is becoming popular is a video question format. They give you 5-6 questions, you have a minute to think about it then record your answer.

Re: ISO 45001 - Nonconformity & Corrective Actions
Hi SLindley,
Make sure that you have a way of recording what the effectiveness of a corrective action is. For instance, you revisit the corrective action in 1 month time to verify the reason for putting it in place and if it has had an impact.

Hi Safety,
What I have done in the past is use external paint and added grit to roughen the smooth surface. A cheap option but effective. Paint the area, spread the grit and leave to dry.

Re: Legionella - Hot and cold temp outputs checking
The LRA carried out by a professional company, as you can't do it yourself, will tell you everything you need to do or put in place. What to check and when, who needs what training (there are named persons), what management system you need, records to be kept etc. etc. and you will need to also comp...

Re: How many hours is enough?
I remember back in the late 80's, I was walking past a site in Perth on a Friday evening when the security guard shouted to me. He came up and explained that the site was shut for the weekend and he had been approached by a guy in a van that afternoon asking if he wanted cash in hand for a weekends ...
