Each person should be issued with their own set of telephone headsets. However, if they are to be shared or passed on each person should have replacement ear pad covers and microphone cover.
There is lots of guidance on the sharing or not of headsets on HSE website under call centres.

I have always found that auditors from external organisations are pretty helpful, if you listen to them. They only get paid by their client if the get the results so they are not out to 'fail' anyone. Be full and honest with them as they dont like being 'fobbed off'.
