Task specific - We get the people doing the job to read them and then have a chat to make sure they are understood. They then have to sign to say they understand and will work to them.

Thanks for the help so far will start looking a DSEAR. The reason I asked was in EH40 it doesn't include and R phrases or codes for hardwood or softwood but it does for other substances so I read this as meaning they didn't apply all be it they may provide useful guidance. I'm helping to put a MSDS together for wood chip (namely dusts) and wanted know if as they aren't a dangerous (I don't think) substance under Chip do the R and S phrases apply or should we really just write in the relevant information?

I'd stick with the BSc to get a broarder understanding of everything you can then decide in a few years if you want an MSc and in what subject.
