Re: fire marshalls
Zanneth. I do think that to involve the Fire Marshals as part of the R/A, will help to promote Fire Safety. I am not saying that they are competant to carry out R/A or investigations but feel that their involvement will only help in some way. I always try and ask for their opinions as sometimes they...

NEBOSH Fire
Does anyone have any advice or tips on doing the NEBOSH Fire cert on day release.
I have NEBOSH general so only require FC1& 2.
My responsibilities in my role at work will also start to cover fire safety /risk assess etc so any other help or advice is very much appreciated.

Dave
The screw conveyors are the relatively small flexible type and are about 80mm in diameter.
The volume is 3000kg per hour.

Regarding what i meant in relation to a 'normal' walkway - this is a walkway between machinery an not neccesary a fire exit route The example i am talking about is between two machines there is a connecting walkway whic...

Re: Screw conveying of dextrose - Atex
For anyone that may be interested. I have zoned the area around the manual filling point as a Zone 22 (1 Meter radius and vertical fall ) due to there been a potential falling of powder onto drive motors etc. The rest of the system I have not zoned but put in a strict housekeeping regime and procedu...

British Standards - Fire exit route width
Could anyone let me know if the British Standards for a normal walkway width is the same as a Fire exit route width and if different what is the difference.
Taking into account numbers of potentially up to 80 people.

Safety data sheets show varying MIE readings for dextrose but appears to be around the >1000MJ mark. If ...
